Give Thanks
Oh, give thanks to the Lord,
for He is good!
~~ Psalm 107:1 ~~
The Pilgrim Fathers who landed at Plymouth in America in 1620 knew nothing of the bountiful prosperity that so many people enjoy today. During that first long winter, seven times as many graves were made for the dead as homes were built for the living. Seed, imported from England, failed to grow, and a ship that was to bring food and relief, brought thirty-five more mouths to feed, but not an ounce of provisions. They caught fish, hunted wild fowl, and venison. They had a little English meal and some Indian corn.
Yet their lives were marked by a spirit of constant thankfulness. On one occasion, William Brewster, rising from a scanty Plymouth dinner of clams and water, gave thanks to God "for the abundance of the sea and the treasures hid in the sand."
According to today's standards, they had little; but they possessed a sense of great gratitude. Gratitude is one of the greatest Christian graces; ingratitude, one of the most vicious sins. Ask God to open your eyes to all the blessings He has bestowed on you, and to give you a fresh spirit of gratitude - not just at this season of the year, but always.

The Blessing - John Waller - Missions Presentation
Choose to be a blessing...
Let it be said of us...
While we walked among the living
Let it be said of us...
By the ones we leave behind
Let it be said of us...
That we lived to be a blessing for life
Let it be said of us...
That we gave to reach the dying
Let it be said of us...
By the fruit we leave behind
Let it be said of us...
That our legacy is blessing for life
This day...
You set life, you set death right before us,
This day...
Every blessing and curse is a choice now
And we will choose to be a blessing for life
Let it be said of us...
That our hearts belonged to Jesus Let it be said of us
That we spoke the words of life
Let it be said of us...
That our heritage is blessing for life
For your Kingdom, for our Children
For the sake of every nation.

On the move...
We officially have a crawler! Laura has been trying to master crawling for weeks...but last night she finally figured it all out! We got some video last night that I will try to post later, but here is a quick pic I snapped this morning of Laura on the go...Life will never be the same...gotta finish up that baby-proofing!
Video of crawling
Oh, and I realize the video is kinda long so probably nobody but family will watch the whole thing...! And ignore the piles of baby laundry in the background... recording video was more important :)

It's been quiet...
On the 7th...I turned 29 years old...! I was still feeling pretty rough...so it was most likely one of my worst birthdays....in comparison, turning 30 next year should be a blast! :) Eric and I did venture down to Gainesville to pick up my Birthday present...I got a video camera! I was quite excited...but of course that means that my blog readers will also be subjected to lots of Laura video :)
Other than all that...life has been fairly quiet...that is good! I aan't believe its almost Thanksgiving and Christmas again--this year has flown by!

Pumpkin Farm
Saturday morning we went to Burt's Pumpkin farm in Dawsonville for some fall fun. We bought a couple of pumpkins to bring home and cook. I love fall foods...apples, pumpkins and sweet potatoes :)
Oh, and you may notice it looks like I am squinting in all the pictures...but actually, Friday night I was using some cleaners and things and apparently I guess I touched my eye and my right eye decided to swell. It was a little better Saturday thanks to a visit to the quick care clinic and some prescription eye drops...Cleaning can be hazardous to your health!
